Viva a Loehmann’s!

About a month ago, I wrote a post for the Superela portal about discount stores in New York City. Right after posting it, I realized I had forgotten to mention one of the largest and oldest retain chains in the USA, Loehmann’s! Unfortunately, a few days after my big mistake, Loehmann’s, after 93 years in business, publicly announced they are closing doors! We all know many stores are having financial problems, but let’s all get together and send optimistic thoughts to our favorite bargain stores so that they remain in business and we remain in fashion not breaking the “pig”!

Well, if when they were successfully in business their prices were lower that low, you can imagine the opportunity it is to shop now. I paid a visit to the Upper West Side – NYC location and at first had a sad feeling. The big sale signs all over make you feel like you’ll never have another chance to look a million bucks not spending a fortune.

So, take a deep breath, have your detective magnifying glass in hand and go hunting for the best opportunity! I did find pieces that were quite a steal! If you are a high end designer lover, don’t miss the chance to bring Versace and Valentino home for half the already discounted price! If you are on a budget, you won’t regret the visit either! BCGB, Theory, Seven for All Mankind and many other brands are at wholesale prices!

I didn’t take many pictures, I felt like I was celebrating while employees were mourning. That did not feel respectful at all! Sorry, girls!

But stay tuned!! The store will close doors on March 31^st and I’d bet prices will fall even lower until then. But then, the inventory will too! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Long Live Loehmann’s!

Aproximadamente um mês atrás eu escrevi um post para o portal Superela sobre lojas de desconto em Nova York. Logo após enviar o post, percebi que havia esquecido de mencionar uma das maiores e mais antigas redes de varejo dos Estados Unidos, a Loehmann’s! Infelizmente, poucos dias depois do meu erro, a Loehmann’s, depois de 93 anos no mercado, anunciou publicamente que fecharia suas portas! Nós sabemos que muitas lojas estão passando por problemas financeiros, então, vamos nos juntar e mandar pensamentos positivos para que nossas lojas de descontos favoritas permaneçam vivas e nos mantendo na moda sem termos que “quebrar o porquinho”!

Bem, se durante seu sucesso os preços da Loehmann’s eram mais baixos que baixos, imaginem a oportunidade de compras agora. Eu fiz uma visitinha à loja do Upper West Side – em NYC e inicialmente me senti um pouco triste. As várias placas de liquidação por toda a loja fizeram eu sentir como se não fosse mais ter outra chance de ter um visual alto valor sem gastar uma fortuna.

Então, respire fundo, pegue sua lupa e vá à caça da melhor oportunidade! Eu achei pecas que estavam baratíssimas! Se você gosta de designers de alta costura, não perca a chance de levar Versace e Valentino para casa pela metade do preço já com desconto! Se você prefere gastar menos, não vai se arrepender de dar uma passadinha também! BCGB, Theory, Seven for All Mankind e várias outras marcas a preços, praticamente, de atacado!

Não tirei muitas fotos. Parecia que eu estava celebrando enquanto os funcionários estavam caidinhos. Não me pareceu respeitoso! Sorry, girls!

Ah, mas fique ligada!! A loja fechará no dia 31 de março e possivelmente os preços cairão ainda mais até lá (claro que as opções vão diminuindo também). Aproveitem!
